Tilda loves playing with Mum's nativity set and as we didn't have a set ourselves I decided to make one out of champagne corks.
We have loads of champagne corks in our cupboard under the stairs from our wedding, Tilda being born, moving into our house etc.
I painted the corks in emulsion and then used acrylic paint for the colours. When the paint was dry I used a marker pen to outline and add features.
Tilda loves the new set and especially making them stand on each others head, like a totum pole.
Looking at the photos, I think I need to make a sheep, just to finish the set.

I am seriously impressed with your artistry. And a good excuse to drink lots of Champagne so that I can make one next year!!

ReplyDeleteI was led here by Violet Posy, via Sticky Fingers. I thought I was going to read a story about somebody who was trashed on champagne during a school nativity play with Christmas decorations woven in there somehow.
ReplyDeleteI think this says quite a bit about how my brain works. Apologies.
Strangely, when I read your post, I wasn't disappointed. It's a cute idea.x
